Steph Curry injured his knee in the series against the Houston Rockets last week and pandemonium ensued. Would the Warriors even make it to the Western Conference Finals now? Who would step up in his absence? What people forgot though was that this team is more than just Steph Curry. There is plenty of talent on the Warriors!
The Warriors have won both games in the second round series against the Portland Trail Blazers by scores of 118-106 and 110-99. They came back from a deficit in the second game of the series to win, showing their ability to find big shots down the stretch.
Klay Thompson has averaged 27 points per game while Draymond Green has averaged a near triple double. He’s averaging 20 points, 13.5 rebounds, and nine rebounds per game this series. Damian Lillard of the Trail Blazers is averaging 27.5 points and 5.5 assists per game, but that’s just not enough to overcome how great of a team the Warriors are even without Steph Curry.
