Your favorite blast from the past is back — and this time Jon’s the one heading up the whirlwind renovations.
This Summer, HGTV is bringing back an all-time favorite. Say hello to Crashers, the high-energy, ambush-style renovation series where unsuspecting homeowners get the surprise of a lifetime: a free, 72-hour renovation of a lackluster space of their choosing. The series, starring Farmhouse Fixer co-star and New Kids on the Block (NKOTB) band member Jonathan Knight, premieres Monday, June 8 at 10|9c.
“Everyone has that one space that really needs work. But they have no time, no money and no idea where to start — and that’s where I come in,” says Jon. “I love a challenge and especially one that’s going to change someone’s life in 72 hours.”
What is Crashers About?
The 13-episode season follows home reno expert Jon as he ambushes folks in various places (furniture boutiques, hardware stores — even local paint shops) to offer them a fast-paced reno with a catch. Before the work begins, the homeowners must agree to three rules:
- 1) The renovation starts immediately.
- 2) They have no say in the design.
- 3) They must vacate their home for a full three days.
Throughout the season, Jon will complete jaw-dropping transformations — think beautiful backyards and dazzling kitchens — with the help of his team of skilled designers.
Here’s a Sneak Peak
In the premiere episode, Jon meets a homeowner at the hardware store in Folsom, California, who can’t pass up a free kitchen renovation for his family of five, including his ex-wife. With the help of his team, Jon will swiftly demo the space down to the studs and dream up a new layout to better serve the large family’s needs. In just three days, he’ll deliver a completely renovated kitchen with optimized storage, brand-new appliances, functional banquette seating and a custom beverage station.
