Nita Strauss Becomes First Active Rock Solo Female Chart-Topper

Nita Strauss has made history by becoming the first female solo rock artist to hit a No. 1 on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart with her new song “Dead Inside.”

“IT’S OFFICIAL,” Strauss ecstatically Tweeted. “I didn’t know this fact until a few weeks ago- No female solo artist has had a #1 single at rock radio, ever. UNTIL TODAY. We held strong on the charts all week and DEAD INSIDE is officially the #1 rock song in the country. I didn’t do it alone… WE DID IT!!!”

Strauss, who is most known for her role as Alice Cooper’s lead guitarist, put out her debut solo album of instrumental music, Controlled Chaos, back in 2018. She released “Dead Inside” as the first single from her highly anticipated album—half of which will be instrumental and the other half with guest singers—coming later this year. The single is her first solo track with a vocalist (Disturbed frontman David Draiman).
