Next month, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are set to release their highly anticipated new album, “Wild God.” After giving fans a taste with the singles “Wild God” and “Frogs,” the band has unveiled a third track, “Long Dark Night.”
In a statement, Cave shared the inspiration behind “Long Dark Night,” revealing that it draws from the profound and powerful poem “Dark Night Of The Soul” by St. John of the Cross. “Ultimately, though, it’s a beautiful country tune. It feels like a sweet companion to the song, ‘Wild God,’” he added.
The new album promises to be a significant addition to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ extensive discography, blending their signature sound with fresh, introspective lyrics. “Wild God” will be available on August 30 via Bad Seed Ltd./Play It Again Sam.
Fans can look forward to exploring the themes of transformation and introspection that Cave hints at, with “Long Dark Night” setting a contemplative tone for the rest of the album. As always, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds continue to push the boundaries of their music, offering listeners a profound and moving experience.
