Building on last season’s strong momentum which saw CTV grow its audience year-over-year and become Canada’s most-watched television network for an unprecedented 19th year in a row, the network today unveiled its 2020 fall primetime schedule. Featuring 18 series returning to the network this fall, CTV delivers established ratings hits and fan-favourite programs that propelled the network to deliver the most Top 10, Top 20, and Top 30 programs with total viewers, A18-49, and A25-54 in 2019/20.
The announcement comes in advance of the #CTVHomefront virtual presentation this afternoon, at which time Bell Media’s original entertainment productions for its English-language services will be announced.
“Following the success of last season, we are in a position to deliver an incredibly stable schedule full of series with established audiences and ratings wins this fall,” said Mike Cosentino, President, Content and Programming, Bell Media. “We’re excited to confirm that CTV is the home of the season’s only must-get series, as Chuck Lorre’s sensational new comedy B POSITIVE joins a fall lineup bursting with Canada’s most-watched TV programs.”
With more returning hits than any other network, CTV’s fall schedule includes Canada’s #1 drama series, THE GOOD DOCTOR, and the #1 comedy series, YOUNG SHELDON, along with Top 5 series THE MASKED SINGER and GREY’S ANATOMY, Top 10 series STATION 19, and Top 20 series THIS IS US and THE ROOKIE.
CTV’s comedy slate expands with the new Chuck Lorre comedy B POSITIVE, airing Thursday nights following YOUNG SHELDON. CTV’s strong comedy roster also features BOB HEARTS ABISHOLA, Canada’s #1 new comedy; THE CONNERS, Canada’s most-watched comedy for A25-54 and A18-49; and Season 2 of JANN, the most-watched new Canadian comedy of 2018/19.
