NCAA Hands Down Penalties for Louisville

A few years ago Louisville basketball was in the news because a woman came out and said she was going to release a tell-all book describing some very inappropriate things that the Cardinals did for recruits. Those actions were of the late night variety and were definitely inappropriate for a school looking to recruit a high school basketball player.

Well, the NCAA has handed down what they think are the appropriate penalties and they include: forfeiting every game that those recruits partook in from December 2010 to July 2014, Head Coach Rick Pitino will be suspended for the first five ACC games of next season and the possibility of their 2013 National Championship banner being taken down among others.

There is no official word yet on if the banner and championship will be forfeited. If Louisville is forced to give up their 2013 National Championship, the Michigan Wolverines would still be considered the runner-up with no national champion.
