Nate Bargatze to Host 77th Emmy Awards: A Fresh Face for Television’s Biggest Night​

The Television Academy has announced that stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze will host the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, set to air live on September 14, 2025, from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. This marks Bargatze’s first time hosting a major awards show. ​

Known for his clean, relatable humor, Bargatze has gained popularity through his Netflix specials, including “The Tennessee Kid” and “The Greatest Average American,” as well as his widely attended stand-up tours. In 2024, he sold over 1.2 million tickets, making him the year’s top-earning comedian according to Pollstar. ​

Bargatze expressed enthusiasm about the hosting role, stating, “It’s a huge honor to be asked to host such an iconic awards show, and I’m beyond excited to work with CBS to create a night that can be enjoyed by families around the world.” ​

The Emmy nominations will be announced on July 15, 2025. The ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. ​
