Earlier last week, My Chemical Romance broke the internet with their announcement of a reunion tour. In the wake of everyone’s emo dreams coming true, ticket sales are through the roof. The band’s music is also back on the charts.
“Welcome to the Black Parade” saw a 376% jump in lyric views following the reunion announcement. “Helena” followed on LyricFind U.S. at No. 10 (up 259% in lyric views), according to LyricFind.
My Chemical Romance earned 7,000 equivalent album units, a 12% jump, with 2,000 of that sum in album sales (up 21%). As for song downloads, the four-piece moved 2,000 (up 33%), and in all, MCR accrued 11.4 million on-demand streams, a leap of 10%.
A December 20th reunion concert at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall. This show will mark MCR’s first live show since 2012.
