Enjoy the movies this weekend – I always do!
The Love Witch (2016)
(NR) 120 min – Horror
Director: Anna Biller
Stars: Samantha Robinson, Jeffrey Vincent Parise, Laura Waddell, Gian Keys
A witch living in present day casts evil spirits on the men she intends to entangle with, and it’s not pretty at all. This film is artfully done with a Hollywood ‘tattler’ flavor; it does however have racy moments that are not fit for young adults. Think ‘Pulp Fiction’ meets 70s adult movies. This film is so hot we’re unable to bring you the preview.
Elle (2016)
(R) 130 min – Drama
Director: Paul Verhoeven
Stars: Isabelle Huppert, Laurent Lafitte, Anne Consigny, Charles Berling
A young businesswoman tracks down the man who abused her, using her wit and beguile to achieve revenge. [watch trailer
Arrival (2016)
(PG-13) 116 min – Sci-Fi
Director: Denis Villeneuve
Stars: Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Forest Whitaker, Michael Stuhlbarg
This may be the most interesting Sci-Fi of the year. Imagine ‘Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind’ in reverse. In much like traditional science fiction thrillers, alien space ships arrive on earth with an invitation to enter the orbs and communicate with its alien travelers. This film is wonderful and is highly recommended this weekend. [watch trailer]
