This weekend there are documentaries, foreign films and an animation film that brighten the sky. It’s difficult to find two documentaries that are so diametrically different; one investigates Scientology with a sense of humor, while the other documentary reveals the mystery and beauty of the world’s most successful color guards, filmed in one day of a spectacular competition.
We highly reccomend two films this weekend. The first is called ‘Contemporary Color,’ a documentary about color guards filmed at the international competition held in the summer of 2015. The pageantry, precision and beauty of this overlooked discipline will open your eyes to this wonderful space.
Our other suggestion is the Anna Kendrick film ‘Table 19,’ a movie about a woman who is dumped days before a wedding she’s attending, but chooses to go anyway. All the fun and drama can be found at ‘Table 19;’ life’s best moments are often unscripted and unannounced.
Enjoy the movies this weekend – I always do!
