This weekend Hollywood throws us for a curve, showing off the most innovative and touching films of the year. Zoë Kravitz, Emile Hirsch star in a ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ kind of movie that will make you fall in love with the person you’d least expect to have feelings for. Kevin Kline and Asif Ali star in a film about a NY illustrator who falls in love with a west coast woman in the middle of his grieving for his mother. Kevin Kline is wonderful in this film, but be sure to bring plenty of Kleenex. From the people that brought Shrek to the silver screen, delivers the animation favorite ‘Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie,’ a film the whole family will enjoy.
‘Wonder Woman’ is the most powerful super hero film starring a female DC figure. Imagine two worlds colliding (WWII and 1500s) where our debonair fighter meets a super human woman? This film is a bit of ‘Matrix’ meets Super Man. There’s a French foreign film about sisters in Paris, but our pick of the week is ‘Band Aid.’ A couple headed or divorce, decide that every problem is a song. To save their marriage they start a band. This movie is a bit ‘Portlandia’ and ‘The Jerk,’ but an indie project that received high honors at the recent Sundance Film Festival.
Enjoy the movies this weekend, we always do!
