Morgan Wallen Embraces Iowa’s Outdoors with First Hunting Experience

Country music sensation Morgan Wallen, celebrated as Des Moines’ second most streamed Spotify artist of 2023, recently ventured into a new experience in Iowa – hunting. Before the state was blanketed in snow, Wallen embarked on his inaugural hunting trip, marking a significant personal milestone.

The Tennessee native, known for chart-topping hits like “Last Night” from his 2021 album “Dangerous: The Double Album” and “Whiskey Glasses” from his 2018 album “If I Know Me,” has found a new connection with the outdoors in Iowa. According to Drury Outdoors, a prominent outdoor and sporting goods company, Wallen successfully hunted his first and largest white-tailed deer to date in Iowa, an achievement they celebrated in a Facebook post on January 8.

Wallen’s growing love for outdoor activities, conservation, and hunting aligns with his country roots and musical themes. His recent outdoor escapade in Iowa not only showcases his versatility as an artist but also as an individual exploring new hobbies.

Aside from his music career, Wallen gained national attention as a competitor in the sixth season of NBC’s “The Voice” in 2014. His recent hit, “Last Night,” not only clinched the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts but also emerged as Des Moines’ top song of 2023 on Spotify. Wallen’s foray into Iowa’s hunting scene adds another layer to his connection with the state, solidifying his bond with his fans in the area.
