More News and Notes From Around the NFL

The NFL season is nearing! While college football is already upon us and really kicks into action tonight and this weekend, the NFL isn’t too far behind. We have seen plenty of happenings going on around the league this week, so let’s talk about them.

The Jets are shopping Sheldon Richardson and Matt Forte to whoever will listen. They’re likely going to finish among the worst teams in the NFL and are looking to shed salary for any sort of compensation it seems like. Can they receive some mid-round picks for either of these two? We shall see.

The Browns tried shopping Joe Haden, their former first round draft pick out of Florida, but didn’t receive any bites. They released him and he poses an interesting free agent option for those in need of a cornerback. They did trade Cam Erving, a former offensive lineman, for a fifth round pick.

Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel worked out with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL the other day. This is the same team that tried hiring Art Briles and was denied that ability earlier in the week.
