In May, Travis Scott stoked the flames of the sneaker rumor mill when he was spotted wearing a never-before-seen Jordan Brand silhouette to the premiere of The Idol at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Although The Idol came and went with little more than a whimper, excitement around Scott’s sneakers remained high, and now, we’ve got more details to share.
According to Hypebeast, “Cut the Check” (as it’s now being called), will be Scott’s first fully original sneaker with Nike’s Jordan Brand, and follows up more than half a dozen collabs with both the Jumpman and Nike, from Air Jordan 1s to SB Dunk Lows and Air Force 1s. It’s equipped with his signature backwards Swoosh, and seems to draw some elements from the Air Jordan 5 as well. In images shared by zsneakerheadz and Sneaker Files, other colorways of the model revealed since Cannes appear to feature a forefoot strap and special outsole branding.
Though an official date of arrival for the Travis Scott x Jordan Cut the Check has yet to be announced, it’ll reportedly drop later this year in a full family size run before arriving in more colorways in the early days of 2024. Stay tuned for more info as it’s made available.
