Miranda Lambert Announces New Album “Postcards From Texas” with Lead Single “Alimony”

Miranda Lambert is ready to light up the country music scene once again. The 40-year-old star has announced the release of her new 14-track album, “Postcards From Texas,” set to drop on Friday, September 13.

Alongside this exciting announcement, Lambert unveiled her latest single, a bluesy divorce anthem titled “Alimony.” The track features Lambert’s signature storytelling, boasting lyrics like, “I called that lawyer up in Dallas, the one who’s livin’ in that palace / So I know he’s good at winnin’, if you think there’s somethin’ that you’re missin’.”

Lambert shared her vision for the song, explaining that she wanted “a shuffle” rhythm. “Everybody loves a shuffle,” she said in a press release. Drawing inspiration from her parents’ work as private investigators in Dallas, who dealt with numerous divorce cases, Lambert found it easy to write about the subject. “We used every Texas metaphor we could come up with on purpose; we wanted to take something kind of s—ty and put some humor back in it,” she added.

In May, Lambert hinted at a return to her roots, revealing to media outlets that her next album would be “very country.” She recorded “Postcards From Texas” at Arlyn Studios in Austin, marking the first time she made an album in her home state since she was 18. Working closely with longtime collaborator Jon Randall, Lambert felt the timing and location were perfect for this new chapter in her career.

Lambert’s announcement follows the release of “Wranglers,” the first taste of her forthcoming record, shared with fans in May. “Postcards From Texas” will be her first new solo music since the critically acclaimed “Palomino” in 2022.

With a fresh label, Republic Records, and a renewed sense of inspiration, Lambert is poised to deliver an album that reflects her Texan roots and personal growth. Fans can look forward to another authentic and powerful collection of songs from one of country music’s most beloved artists.
