The 2023 Grammy Awards nominees were announced on Tuesday, November 15th via a livestream reveal from the Recording Academy from the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. For the country categories, Miranda Lambert leads the way with four nominations, and Luke Combs, Maren Morris and Willie Nelson all followed with three nominations each.
Laura Veltz, Country songwriter who cowrote hits for artists such as Dan + Shay, Lady A and Kane Brown, earned a nomination in the new Songwriter of the Year category. Bonnie Raitt also earned a nomination for Song of the Year, with the title track of her 2022 album, Just Like That. Raitt ended up with four nominations total, with three in Americana categories.
Brandi Carlile also had a great day hearing that she earned nominations for country and Americana fields, as well as all-genre categories. Her track “Broken Horses” got her a mention in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song categories. Carlile also received a nomination in the Album of the Year category for In These Silent Days as well as a mention in the Record of the Year category for “You and Me on the Rock.” Making her one of the most nominated acts at this years event with only BeyoncĂ© and Kendrick Lamar earning more nominations than her. Carlile is tied with Adele for the third most nominated with seven each.
The Bluegrass Molly Tuttle received a nomination for Best Bluegrass Album as well as for Best New Artist. The 2023 Grammy Awards are going to be held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles after last year in Las Vegas. The 2023 Grammy Award will air on CBS on February 5th, 2023.
