Miley has returned to the top of the Billboard 200, ending a nearly 13-year wait between No. 1 albums.
Her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, enters the chart at No. 1 after earning 61,000 equivalent album units in the United States during its opening tracking week.
The debut gives Miley her sixth career No. 1 album and extends her impressive Billboard 200 history to 16 top 10 releases.
It is also a long-awaited return to familiar territory. The singer last ruled the Billboard 200 with Bangerz in 2013, the album that produced hits including “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball.”
Bass Persuades arrived September 18, only a few weeks after Miley announced the project at the beginning of the month. Its title track served as the first single and gave the singer another Billboard Hot 100 success, debuting at No. 35 and becoming her 24th top 40 hit.
The new record follows 2025’s Something Beautiful, which debuted and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Rather than slowing down after that project, Miley quickly moved into another musical chapter.
Bass Persuades mixes pop with dance, electronic, New Wave and rock influences while continuing the stylistic experimentation that has become a recurring feature of her career.
The No. 1 debut adds another milestone to a catalog that has stretched from her early Disney-era success through multiple reinventions as an adult recording artist.
More than a decade after Bangerz put her at the top of the albums chart, Bass Persuades has brought Miley all the way back to No. 1.
