Miley Cyrus Ascends with “Dream as One” for Avatar: Fire and Ash

Miley Cyrus has entered the expansive world of Pandora with a new song crafted specifically for the forthcoming epic Avatar: Fire and Ash. Titled Dream as One, the track builds on the emotional gravity of the film by layering the singer’s own narrative of loss and renewal.

Collaborating with heavyweight producers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (alongside score composer Simon Franglen), Cyrus delivers a powerful ballad that taps into themes of fire, ashes and rebirth. The chorus encapsulates that journey: “Even through the flames / Even through the ashes in the sky / Baby, when we dream, we dream as one.”

In recent years Cyrus has been candid about how the 2018 Woolsey Fire impacted her—losing her home, facing loss, and rebuilding. She calls this song “musical medicine” and says the film’s themes of unity, healing and love resonated deeply with her personal story.

The track will play during the film’s end credits and live on the official soundtrack, which drops ahead of the movie’s December release. Yet critics point out it may not deviate significantly from the cinematic ballad template; for some it lacks the edgy flair that marked Cyrus’s recent work.

Still, in the context of the Avatar franchise—where past installments featured songs from stars like The Weeknd and Leona Lewis—Miley’s contribution positions her in a legacy of high‑profile musical tie‑ins to blockbuster cinema. Whether Dream as One becomes a standout in her catalog or a soundtrack footnote remains to be seen, but as a pop artist bridging her personal resilience with large‑scale cinema, Cyrus has certainly made her statement.
