The Tennessee Vols search for their next football coach has gotten pretty messy but things may be nearing an end if recent rumors are true. There are reports out that Mike Leach is meeting with Tennessee for the position. We think the Vols have messed up this search but ending with Leach would be quite entertaining.
If you don’t know Leach, he’s one of the few head coaches in college football right now to have never played football at the college level. He has a law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law to also separate him from the masses. As for his coaching ability, his Texas Tech teams went 84-43 during his time there while his current stay at Washington State has resulted in a record of 38-37. The Cougars were a bad team when he got there and now he has gone three straight seasons with eight or more wins.
Mike Leach isn’t your typical coach but that doesn’t make him a bad option. We would love to see him in Tennessee orange in 2018 but only time will tell how true the rumors are surrounding this meeting.
