Miguel Cabrera is a force to be reckoned with for the Detroit Tigers and has been for many years. He’s a career .320 hitter with over 450 home runs in his time in the MLB. Just the other night he reached a milestone that only seven others have accomplished in baseball’s longtime existence: 1,000+ extra base hits in his first 15 seasons.
Miguel Cabrera’s second double on Friday night gave him that number, joining an elite list of star players to do so. Albert Pujols leads the way with 1,159, while Lou Gehrig, Stan Musial, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez also find themselves on the list.
Cabrera is one of the greatest right handed hitters of all-time and him joining this elite company really shows it. Congratulations to Miguel Cabrera on reaching this milestone. We’re sure we haven’t heard the last of him this season!
