Michigan football is back to relevance after multiple years of struggling with Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke and just recently they nabbed a former Florida head coach to head up their wide receivers. Interestingly enough, Jim McElwain will be in charge of the wide receivers for the Wolverines, a very young group that certainly could use a veteran presence from a coach.
McElwain coached Florida from 2015 to 2017 and coached at Colorado State before that. From 2008 to 2011, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
While McElwain’s Florida teams struggled on offense, there’s no doubt that this is a great hire. Jim Harbaugh just hired a former SEC coach!
