Micah Parsons Unfazed by Contract Talks: “I’m Just Going to Get Mine”

With Dallas Cowboys training camp just around the corner, one name looms large: Micah Parsons. Despite entering the final stages of his rookie deal, the All-Pro linebacker remains without a long-term extension—but he isn’t sweating it.

Speaking after hosting his youth football camp in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Parsons shared his mindset: “If people don’t see your value, you don’t cry and sit down. You just work harder.” That work ethic has defined his rise in the NFL—four straight seasons of at least 12 sacks, multiple Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections, and a reputation as one of the league’s most disruptive defenders.

Parsons, 26, isn’t letting the spotlight or market comparisons dictate his focus. While other top-tier edge rushers like T.J. Watt and Trey Hendrickson push for new deals, Parsons remains patient, noting the increasing salary cap will ultimately benefit his payday.

“I’m just going to get mine no matter what,” he said confidently. “It’s not about the number—it’s about the percentage of the cap.”

The Cowboys know what they have in Parsons: a generational talent who refuses to let contract distractions derail his mission. For now, he’s putting his head down—and putting the league on notice.
