Metallica isn’t finished with the M72 World Tour just yet.
The metal giants are extending their massive global trek into 2027 with 12 newly announced stadium concerts across North America, keeping one of the band’s most ambitious touring productions on the road for another year.
The new stretch begins May 8 at BC Place in Vancouver before heading south to Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on May 13. From there, Metallica will move through El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Madison and Cleveland before closing the run June 19 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
Limp Bizkit and Swedish metal band Avatar will join Metallica as support throughout the newly announced dates, giving the stadium run a three-band lineup built for a very loud night.
The 2027 concerts will be slightly different from some earlier stops on the M72 tour. Rather than the two-night No Repeat Weekend format, each city will get a single Metallica performance.
One major piece of the M72 experience will remain. Metallica will continue playing in the round, with the stage positioned in the middle of the stadium field and the audience surrounding the band. The production also retains the Snake Pit area at the center of the stage.
The M72 World Tour began in April 2023 in support of Metallica’s 72 Seasons album. By the time the latest extension was announced, the tour had already logged 99 performances across 26 countries.
Metallica will have plenty to keep the amps warm before returning to North American stadiums. The band is also scheduled for its Life Burns Faster residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, with performances running into March 2027.
Tickets for the newly announced stadium concerts will first be offered through Metallica Fan Club presales beginning September 21. General ticket sales are scheduled to begin September 25 at 10 a.m. local time.
The complete 2027 stadium schedule starts May 8 in Vancouver, followed by San Diego on May 13, El Paso on May 18, San Antonio on May 22, Fayetteville on May 26, Kansas City on May 29, Raleigh on June 2, Indianapolis on June 5, Buffalo on June 8, Madison on June 12, Cleveland on June 15 and Salt Lake City on June 19.
The tour will also continue Metallica’s charitable component. A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit local organizations through the band’s All Within My Hands foundation.
More than four decades into Metallica’s career, the band’s touring calendar clearly isn’t getting quieter. M72 is rolling into another year, and another dozen stadiums are about to get considerably louder.
