Metallica Electrifies Munich with Live Debut of “Inamorata”

Metallica thrilled fans in Munich, Germany, last night (May 26) with the live debut of their epic track “Inamorata” from their 2023 album, 72 Seasons. The performance, part of their M72 World Tour, marked the first time the band has played the 11-minute song live, and it was a highlight in a 16-track set that featured two tour debuts.

“This song we have never ever played live before,” frontman James Hetfield announced to the enthusiastic crowd before launching into “Inamorata,” their longest track to date. “In our band, we don’t recognize the word ‘mistake.’ Because there are no mistakes – there’s just unique moments that happen, alright? That’s what we need to tell ourselves. This is one of my favorites, alright? So I’m gonna like it!”

In addition to “Inamorata,” the band surprised fans with performances of “Hit the Lights” from their debut album, Kill ‘Em All, and their cover of Budgie’s “Breadfan.” Both tracks have become rarities in their recent setlists, making their inclusion last night a special treat for longtime fans.

The current leg of Metallica’s M72 World Tour will continue across Europe until July 14. The band will then return to North America for another round of shows starting on August 2.
