In the mid-80s, America had a love affair with the country of Australia; ‘Crocodile Dundee’ the film was extremely popular at the box office, and many ‘down artists’ were breaking through, including Rick Springfield, The Little River Band, and Men at Work.
Men at Work’s biggest songs were “Down Under,” “Who Can It Be Now” and “It’s a Mistake” earning them ‘Best New Artist’ at the 1983 Grammy’s. Men at Work eventually sold over 40 million records worldwide.
Colon Hay was the celebrated lead singer; the front man for Men at Work is now enjoying a successful solo career after the band broke up for the 2nd time in 2002.
