Yellowjackets star Melanie Lynskey has been dealing with a number of unsolicited comments on her body since the premiere of the well-received show. In a recent tweet, she called out people who, by sending her messages about her body, claim to “care” about her health.
“The story of my life since ‘Yellowjackets’ premiered. Most egregious are the ‘I care about her health!!’ people…b—h you don’t see me on my Peloton!” the 44-year-old actress began in response to a since-deleted tweet. “You don’t see me running through the park with my child. Skinny does not always equal healthy.
In a recent interview, Lynskey shared that a Yellowjackets crew member assumed she would lose weight for the role of Shauna.
“They were asking me, ‘What do you plan to do? I’m sure the producers will get you a trainer. They’d love to help you with this,'” she said of the conversation.
Lynskey, in response, articulated that it was “important” for her character to be “comfortable and sexual” in her body.
Many of her Yellowjackets costars were quick to support Lynskey.
