Meghan Markle’s Netflix Series With Love, Meghan Delayed Amid SoCal Wildfires

Meghan Markle’s return to Netflix has been postponed due to the devastating wildfires sweeping Southern California. The Duchess of Sussex’s new lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, originally scheduled for a January 15 release, will now premiere on March 4, 2025.

“At the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with the full support of Netflix, the release of the show — a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California — has been moved…due to the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires,” a Netflix spokesperson confirmed.

Markle, a Los Angeles native, expressed her gratitude to Netflix for the delay. “I’m thankful to my partners…as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” she said.

A Focus on Relief Efforts
Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, have actively supported wildfire relief efforts, recently meeting with Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo. The couple emphasized the fires’ impact, writing on their website, “Wildfires…have devastated families, homes, schools, medical centers, and so much more.”

The Duke and Duchess listed organizations aiding wildfire victims, including:

Animal Wellness Foundation: Providing shelter for evacuated animals.
Compton Cowboys: Assisting with emergency horse transportation.
Airbnb and 211LA: Offering free temporary housing to displaced individuals.
With Love, Meghan: A Lifestyle Redefined
Markle’s series aims to reimagine lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to guides with candid conversations alongside friends like Mindy Kaling and Roy Choi. The show celebrates playfulness over perfection, showcasing Markle gardening, cooking, and dancing.

According to Netflix, the series highlights how to “create beauty, even in the unexpected.” Prince Harry makes a cameo in the series, adding to the personal and relatable tone of the show.

A Netflix Partnership Rooted in Change
The Duke and Duchess signed a multiyear deal with Netflix after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Their previous projects include:

Harry & Meghan (2022): A record-breaking docuseries with the highest one-day audience for any Netflix series since October 2022.
Heart of Invictus (2023): A docuseries focusing on the Invictus Games.
Polo (2024): A documentary exploring the world of competitive polo.
Looking Ahead
Despite the delay, Markle shared her excitement for the series on social media, returning to Instagram for the first time in five years. “I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it,” she wrote. With its mix of heartfelt moments and practical insights, With Love, Meghan promises to be a celebration of resilience, creativity, and connection—qualities that are especially meaningful in these challenging times.
