Megan Thee Stallion Honored as 2025 Mental Health Champion, Advocates for Vulnerability

Megan Thee Stallion has been awarded the 2025 Mental Health Champion of the Year by The Trevor Project, recognizing her ongoing advocacy and openness around mental health struggles. The Houston rapper has long used her platform to destigmatize mental health challenges, particularly within marginalized communities. She’s spoken publicly about battling depression, past trauma, and the weight of societal expectations. In doing so, she has offered others permission to share their own stories.

In her acceptance, Megan emphasized empathy, pointing out that “mental health impacts all of us” and thanking The Trevor Project for its work supporting LGBTQ+ youth. She has spearheaded programs and resources — including BadBitchesHaveBadDaysToo.com, a guide offering accessible mental health support across diverse identities.

Because her music often draws from honest reflection, projects like Traumazine have explored themes of emotional struggle, anxiety, and resilience — reinforcing that success and vulnerability can coexist. By merging her artistry with activism, Megan is making more than hits — she’s pushing cultural change around how we talk about mental health and who gets to be seen and heard while healing.
