The 59th Grammy Awards were this past Sunday, and two of your favorite country music stars represented themselves quite well. Maren Morris came home with hardware while Kelsea Ballernii unfortunately didn’t. Let’s spend a few minutes to recognize both…
Kelsea Ballerini was born in Mascot, TM in 1993, but grew up in nearby Knoxville. Luckily her daddy was a radio executive, her mother worked in a bible marketing department. After years of singing in a church choir, Kelsea eventually singed with Black River Entertainment at the age of 19, and has never looked back since. She is engaged to Australian singer Morgan Evans.
Maren Morris is a Texas girl, born in Arlington in 1990 to an average middle class family. She began her career in music at the age of 15 in 2005, but spent more time writing songs for Kelly Clarkson and Tim McGraw than herself. Her big break came when she appeared at the music guest on ‘SNL’ in December of last year.
Maren won the ‘Best Country Solo Performance’ award, while Kelsea was nominated for ‘Best New Artist,’ but unfortunately lost.
