The MLB offseason is here and with that we see all of the big award winners be named. Just the other day it was the Rookie of the Year award that was handed out to Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger and now we know the Cy Young winners! The National League Cy Young winner is Max Scherzer while we see Corey Kluber win the award in the American League.
Scherzer received 27 of the 30 first place votes while Clayton Kershaw would receive the other three. This marks the third time he has won the award with his first and second wins coming in 2013 and 2016. He is now among nine others to have won the award three times or more in their career.
Corey Kluber and the Indians didn’t make it to the World Series, but it wasn’t his fault. He was dominant all season long and the voters recognized that giving him 28 of the 30 first place votes. The Red Sox’s Chris Sale would receiver the other two first place votes.
Congratulations to both Kluber and Scherzer on their Cy Young honors!
