In a trivia showdown laced with wit, rivalry, and a million-dollar payout, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire delivered one of its most unforgettable episodes yet. Matt Damon and trivia titan Ken Jennings joined forces on the July 30 episode and walked away with the $1 million grand prize—thanks to quick thinking, teamwork, and a little help from host Jimmy Kimmel.

The duo played to benefit Water.org, Damon’s nonprofit that brings clean water to global communities. “This money will help over 200,000 people,” Damon said as confetti fell and the oversized check was revealed.

Though Jennings is best known as the greatest Jeopardy! player in history, even he admitted Millionaire brought the pressure. “A miss really can stop you,” he noted.

After using the “Ask the Host” lifeline for a $500,000 question (which Kimmel answered correctly with visible smugness), the pair confidently tackled the million-dollar question: the word describing the beautiful sound of wind through trees. The answer? Susurrus.

Kimmel, always ready with a jab, called it “the least dramatic million-dollar moment” in show history. Damon, finally on Kimmel’s turf after years of mock feuding, quipped, “This isn’t your show. It’s Millionaire. Way better.”
