Margot Robbie to Star in New ‘Wuthering Heights’ Adaptation by Emerald Fennell

Margot Robbie is set to take on an iconic role in a new adaptation of Wuthering Heights from director Emerald Fennell. According to Deadline, Robbie will portray Catherine Earnshaw, while Jacob Elordi will step into the role of Heathcliff. Fennell, known for her work on Saltburn, which also starred Elordi and was produced by Robbie’s LuckyChap Entertainment, will write, direct, and produce the film.

Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë’s timeless novel published in 1847, chronicles the intense relationships between two families, the Earnshaws and the Lintons, and the enigmatic foster son, Heathcliff. The story has been hailed as one of the greatest works of English literature and inspired numerous adaptations, including the 1939 classic starring Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon.

This new version marks the latest in a long line of adaptations, with the most recent film version released in 2011, directed by Andrea Arnold. While no release date has been set, fans of the novel and its film renditions are already buzzing with excitement.
