March Madness is here! Wow, what a first weekend of college basketball! The Sweet Sixteen has been set and over the weekend we saw it play out in a dramatic way. Here’s how a few of the teams got to this point…
Northern Iowa had the lead for most of the entire game against Texas A&M game, but couldn’t finish the game strong. They gave up a 12-point lead in the final minute, which led to not one but two overtimes! What a heartbreaker it was for UNI, as TAMU brought home the win in the end.
Xavier headed into the weekend with only Wisconsin in the way of a Sweet Sixteen appearance, but like UNI, they couldn’t hold off their opponent. With seconds winding down, Wisconsin drained a three from the corner and won by three!
Duke and Oklahoma both held large leads, gave them up, but then held off their opponents on Sunday. They made it interesting by the end of the game, but both punched their tickets to the Sweet Sixteen.
The rest of the field to move on includes Kansas, Maryland, Miami (FL), Villanova, Oregon, UNC, Indiana, Notre Dame, Iowa State, Virginia, Gonzaga, and Syracuse.
