In a heartwarming turn of events, music legends Madonna and Sir Elton John have ended their longstanding public feud. The reconciliation occurred backstage at Saturday Night Live (SNL) on April 5, 2025, where John was performing alongside Brandi Carlile.
Madonna, 66, attended the SNL taping and later shared on Instagram, “We finally buried the hatchet.” She recounted sneaking out during high school to watch John’s performance in Detroit, an experience she described as “unforgettable” and transformative. Reflecting on their past discord, Madonna admitted feeling hurt by John’s public criticisms over the years. Determined to address the rift, she confronted John backstage. Upon meeting, John immediately apologized, leading to an emotional embrace. He expressed a desire to collaborate, revealing he had written a song for her.
Their feud dates back to 2002 when John labeled Madonna’s “Die Another Day” as “the worst Bond tune ever.” In 2004, he accused her of lip-syncing during live performances. Despite these public spats, their recent reconciliation highlights the power of forgiveness in mending relationships.
