Luke Combs Announces Upcoming Sophomore Album

On Friday, August 8th, Country Superstar Luke Combs announces via Twitter that he is set to release his sophomore album on November 8th. The upcoming project follows his 2017 debut full-length This One’s For You, which has reigned at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for 44 non-consecutive weeks.

On Thursday, August 7th, Combs hinted at the date for the new album in a behind-the-scenes video for “Beer Never Broke My Heart.” The 45-second clip kicked off with a countdown of 4-3-2-1 before the numbers 11 and 8 appeared on the screen.

Earlier this year, Combs became the first artist to have his first five singles top the Country Airplay chart when “Beautiful Crazy” led for seven weeks beginning March 2. This week, he broke his own record when “Beer Never Broke My Heart” became his fastest rising single to hit No. 1 on the chart in 13 weeks.

The album follows his EP The Prequel, released in June. All five tracks on the project charted on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs top 25, marking the first time in 60 years an artist has accomplished this feat since Johnny Cash in 1959. “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” Combs’ latest single featured on The Prequel, hit No. 1 this week on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, marking the singer’s sixth consecutive No. 1.
