According to tasteofcountry.com, Loretta Lynn connected with her fans on Facebook during her last days. On October second, Lynn published what would be her last Facebook message stating, “Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed, But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” Her message concluded in saying that she was sharing from the Book of John. The post had over 6,000 fans liking the post and 1,500 sharing it.
Lynn’s family added an official statement about her death after she died on October fourth, at the age of 90 years old. The statement read, “Our precious mom, Loretta Lynn, passed away peacefully this morning, October 4th, in her sleep at home at her beloved ranch in Hurricane Mills … The family has asked for privacy during this time, as they grieve. An announcement regarding a memorial will be forthcoming in a public announcement.”
After Lynn’s death a ton of love came from the country music community from names such as Darius Rucker, Reba McEntire, and George Strait. With dozens more reacting across social media as well.
