Looking Back at the Year 1967

We’re not too far away from the year 2017. My has the time flown by! We remember 2007, 1997, 1987 and 1977 like it was yesterday. After that it might get a little fuzzy! With it being so close to 2017 we decided to take a look at what the top songs were 40 years ago. What were the top songs in 1967? Check out this playlist…

1.) To Sir With Love – Lulu
2.) The Letter – The Box Tops
3.) Ode to Billy Joe – Bobbie Gentry
4.) Windy – The Association
5.) I’m a Believer – The Monkees
6.) Light My Fire – The Doors
7.) Something Stupid – Frank and daughter Nancy Sinatra
8.) Happy Together – The Turtles
9.) Grooving – The Rascals

Prologue: “To Sir with Love” became controversial as it was from the Sidney Poitier movie about an African American teacher in an all-white British classroom. Jose Feliciano had an ever bigger hit with the Doors classic tune a year later. The Frank and Nancy song is the only instance in music history of a father and daughter hitting number one with a duo.
