The British Open begins this morning bright and early and with it being the third major of the year, we’re crossing the halfway point in big-time golf. This one is one of the biggest, obviously, but it’s also one of the most unique with the course being played at Royal Birkdale.
This year’s competition is sure to be tough and there are plenty of golfers with a chance at taking home the trophy. Vegas recently released odds for this one and not surprisingly Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth are the favorites. Both are favored at 14-1 with Rickie Fowler and Jon Rahm following them at 16-1. The only other golfer to be in the teens is Sergio Garcia who sits at 18-1.
This year’s British Open should be a fun one and there are plenty of golfers not at the top of betting odds that have a chance at winning. Jason Day sits at 33-1, Phil Mickelson at 40-1 and Matt Kuchar is at 50-1. What an exciting weekend it should be in the world of golf!
