On Saturday, December 31st, Logic uploaded to Instagram a video that gave fans a peak into a studio session with actor Rainn Wilson, most known for playing his role of Dwight Schrute in The Office. In the clip, Logic says, “My man is making beats right now, and he’s really snapping,” before showing Wilson on camera. Logic jokes, You may be Black,” to which Wilson replies: “Right?!” with a shrug. Logic captioned the video, “Look who stopped by to cook some beets.”
Dwight Schrute has been referenced in songs from Paul Wall, Michael Christmas, and Das Racist. At the moment it isn’t known if the pair will actually release anything together. However, back in November Logic revealed he would be willing to collaborate with producer The Alchemist saying, “Of course @Alchemist is one of the greatest producers of all time. it would be an honor, Al… we could finish an album in a weekend brother. lets do it!!!!”
Logic’s seventh studio album, Vinyl Days, arrived in July of 2022 and was recorded in only 12 days and marked his last release on Def Jam Records. At the time he stated on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, “That’s my favorite part – I’m off Def Jam, I made that album so I could leave, and guess what? I left them with some of the dopest sh-t I could give them. It’s not like I just wiped my ass. What am I excited about? I’m excited to be independent, I’m excited to do my thing.”
He concluded in saying, “I’m really happy to know that I represented and low-key was the face of the label — one of the illest Hip Hop labels of all time — and that I sold millions and millions of records and gave them billions and billions of streams, and that it was a good partnership. And I couldn’t be happier to get the f-ck out.”
