LL COOL J recently announced he will put out his first full length project in ten years, this year. He also gave fans some clues on what to expect from him. On January 14th, he shared a video where he received a custom art piece from his DJ Z-Trip for his birthday. He also tweeted, “I’m competing with myself on this new album. Wait til you hear this MF. [musical notes emoji], This year B. It’s coming.”
The last time that LL COOL J put out an album, was the release of Authentic, back in 2013, just five years after his final Def Jam album, Exit 13. While he was with them, he managed to release an album every two or three years from 1987 to 2008. LL COOL J also tweeted that, “I’m competing with myself on this new album. Wait til you hear this MF. 🎶 This year B. It’s coming.”
Back in 2018, he founded Rock the Bells that focuses on uplifting the culture of Hip Hop through the use of content, commerce, merchandise, and other experiences to remind fans where Hip Hop came from. Rock The Bells will go to the open seas with their inaugural Hip Hop Experience Cruise in celebration of the genre turning 50.
The cruise will be in partnership with Sixthman and will be aboard the Norwegian Pearl from Miami to The Bahamas on November 13th, 2023 to November 17th. It will include a lineup of performers that will be announced at a later date.
