Linkin Park Welcomes New Vocalist and Drummer, Drops First Single in 7 Years

Linkin Park has officially announced Emily Armstrong, lead vocalist of Dead Sara, as their new co-vocalist, alongside producer and songwriter Colin Brittain as their new drummer. The news came during a live performance event on Thursday, marking a new chapter for the band since the tragic loss of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017.

The announcement was accompanied by the release of their first single in seven years, “The Emptiness Machine,” which serves as the lead track for their upcoming album, From Zero, set to release on November 15 via Warner Records. This will be their first full-length album since 2017’s One More Light.

The current lineup now includes Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, along with Armstrong and Brittain. The band also revealed plans for a six-date arena tour, with stops in Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota.

Reflecting on the new era, Shinoda explained that the album title, From Zero, pays homage to the band’s original name, Xero, and their continued journey. “Sonically and emotionally, it embraces our past, present, and future,” Shinoda said.

Pre-sale tickets for the From Zero tour will be available starting today, Sept. 6 for LP Underground fan club members, with general sales beginning tomorrow, Sept. 7.
