Lil Wayne Crowns Himself King at Madison Square Garden with Tha Carter VI Tour Kickoff

Lil Wayne proved once again why he’s considered a living legend on Friday night (June 6), lighting up Madison Square Garden with the electrifying launch of his Tha Carter VI Tour. Marking his first solo headlining show at the iconic venue, Wayne turned the night into both a celebration and a milestone.

The performance came just hours after the release of Tha Carter VI, his long-awaited new album. Despite mixed critical reception to the project, the energy inside MSG was anything but lukewarm. More than 13,000 fans packed the arena, showering Weezy with love as he tore through an impressive 36-song setlist that blended fresh tracks with career-defining hits.

Dressed in classic Wayne fashion and wielding his guitar, the New Orleans rapper held court with a live band and DJ backing him up. Surprise appearances by LL COOL J and Cory Gunz only amped up the excitement, reminding fans of Wayne’s deep roots and far-reaching influence.

Between tracks, Wayne repeated his mantra — “I ain’t s—t without you” — giving heartfelt thanks to fans and collaborators alike. As the crowd roared, one thing became clear: hip-hop has its legends, and Lil Wayne continues to reign among them.
