You may not know his name, but if you’re a fan of rock and roll you should know his work; Jerry Hopkins, the author who penned the biographies of stars like Jim Morrison, Elvis Presley and David Bowie had died at the age of 82 in Bannock.
Jerry wrote more than 39 books, many celebrating the lives of our favorite singers and band. He was also published in more than 1,000 articles in magazine during his career, becoming the ‘go to’ guy for rock and roll insight. Although his ‘No One Here Gets Out Alive’ Jim Morrison autobiography is his most popular, he also wrote about the little guy. Jerry began writing for the early startup of the Rolling Stone Magazine, with his big break coming in the Elvis: A Biography in 1969. Oh, the stories Jerry Hopkins could tell. A rock and roll writing icon gone at the age of 82.
