Luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton has announced its official entry into the beauty industry with the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, a high-end makeup line debuting this fall. As Fashionista reports, to lead this ambitious new venture, the brand has appointed legendary makeup artist Dame Pat McGrath as creative director.
Known for her groundbreaking work in the beauty industry and her eponymous brand, McGrath has long collaborated with Louis Vuitton, creating iconic runway looks. She joins Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, the house’s master perfumer, in shaping the brand’s expanding beauty vision.
Although LV is well known for its leather vanity trunks and has previously made compacts, brushes and mirrors in its earlier years of operation, La Beauté Louis Vuitton will be the brand’s first foray into makeup products and is set to debut later this fall.
McGrath’s appointment is a natural fit, given her history of crafting striking makeup looks for Louis Vuitton’s runway shows, including the unforgettable red flames and black roses at the 2019 Cruise collection. “Working backstage for over 20 years at Louis Vuitton fashion shows, I am thrilled to now play such a key role in the launch of La Beauté Louis Vuitton,” McGrath shared in a press release.
While details on the makeup collection remain under wraps, the beauty world is already buzzing with anticipation. With McGrath’s visionary artistry and Louis Vuitton’s commitment to craftsmanship, the luxury beauty landscape is about to be redefined.
