LeBron and Bronny James Share a Special Moment in Cleveland as Bronny Scores First NBA Points

LeBron and Bronny James continue to make history as NBA teammates with the Los Angeles Lakers, and on Wednesday night, they added another milestone to the record books. Playing in an away game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where LeBron spent 11 seasons and won his first championship, Bronny scored his first NBA points at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, receiving a loud ovation from fans who eagerly awaited his debut on Cleveland’s court.

Though Cleveland dominated the game, winning 134-110 and remaining undefeated, the night held a sentimental significance for the James family. With five minutes left in the fourth quarter, Bronny took the floor, marking his second NBA game appearance. Shortly after, he scored his first points with a stepback jumper from the short corner. He finished with two points, two assists, and a steal in five minutes on the court, while LeBron ended the game with 26 points and six rebounds before exiting in the fourth.

Cleveland paid homage to both father and son before the game, celebrating LeBron’s legacy with the Cavaliers and welcoming Bronny back to his birthplace. Cleveland is truly home for the James family; LeBron grew up in nearby Akron, where Bronny was born in 2004 during LeBron’s early years with the Cavaliers. LeBron’s two stints with the team brought numerous accolades, including Rookie of the Year, two MVP awards, and an NBA championship in 2016.

With their season opener last week, LeBron and Bronny became the first father-son duo in NBA history to play together. This historic moment made the Jameses only the fourth father-son pair in American professional sports to play together, joining the ranks of Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. in MLB.

Though Bronny will join the G League after this road trip, the Jameses’ time on the court has already proven monumental. The Lakers, now 3-2, continue their road trip with a game against the Toronto Raptors on Friday.
