In San Angelo, Texas, Angelo State University’s regional office of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health is set to host “Girl Power: Just Roll With It,” an event that is aimed at empowering young girls along with the women in their lives, on Saturday, January 28th, at the McNease Convention Center, at 500 Rio Concho Drive in downtown San Angelo.
The event is totally free and open to 3rd through 5th grade girls and their mothers, or other important women in their lives. It will also feature dynamic guest speaker Julie Schniers, author Amy Weatherly and Miss Texas Pageant candidate Landry Champlin.
Topics to be discussed include, positive self-esteem, strategies for building healthy friendships and relationships, as well as, ways to promote mental and physical health. The event will also feature fun breakout sessions, gift bags, lunch, prizes, free photos and many more activities. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the program itself will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The ASU office of the Laura W Bush Institute for Women’s Health was originally founded back in 2010, and is dedicated to supporting the lives of women and girls in Texas and across the nation through advancing multidisciplinary science in women’s health.
