This year’s MTV Video Music Awards are set to deliver an electrifying mix of legacy and innovation. On September 7 at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, the stage will light up with performances from genre-spanning artists—from rising names to iconic trailblazers.
Sabrina Carpenter returns for her second VMA appearance, bringing new music and multiple nominations, including Video of the Year for her track “Manchild.” She’s releasing her seventh album, Man’s Best Friend, on August 29.
Honoring their storied careers, Ricky Martin will receive the inaugural Latin Icon Award, while Busta Rhymes is set to accept the first-ever Rock the Bells Visionary Award—each also delivering performances.
Adding fresh energy to the lineup are Alex Warren, Sombr making his award show debut, and a high-octane set from J Balvin with DJ Snake, including the live premiere of “Noventa.”
With LL Cool J hosting—returning solo after co-hosting in 2022—and the VMAs airing on CBS for the first time, the 2025 edition promises to be a night where music history, fresh creativity, and cultural power collide.
