This past weekend we didn’t see any movies blow up the box office, but then again it was a slower week at the theaters. We have ourselves a new number one movie, The Girl on the Train, which debuted this past weekend! It bought in over $24 million at the box office. Let’s take a look at how some of the other movies did this weekend.
Two other movies debuted this week and got into the top 10. The Birth of a Nation and Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life came in at six and seven overall. They both brought in about $7 million on the weekend.
Last week’s top movie was Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, but this weekend it fell to number two at the box office. It brought in just $15 million compared to about $35 million in its debut at the box office last week. Rounding out the top three was “Deepwater Horizon.” It brought in just over $11 million.
