Six years ago this week (April 20), Lady Gaga released her third single off the album “The Fame Monster.” This Grammy-winning album was so good in part because of this single.
On the charts, “Alejandro” would peak at number one on 12 different charts across the globe. In the United States, it peaked at number one on the US Hot Dance Club Songs and would peak at number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. At the time of it’s release, “Alejandro” became the seventh consecutive top 10 hit for her on this chart. The single has hit double platinum status after selling over 2.5 million units.
The song would be one of the songs on her The Monster Ball Tour and would also be played on the ninth season of American Idol.
