Lady Gaga has officially revealed her upcoming album Harlequin, a 13-song collection accompanying her role in the film Joker: Folie à Deux. The album, which will be released on September 27, features a mix of classic covers like Get Happy and Oh, When the Saints, along with original material crafted for the film. Gaga had previously hinted at this announcement on social media, building anticipation among her fans.
In addition to Harlequin, Gaga has shared that the lead single from her seventh studio album will drop in October, with the full album set for release in February 2024.
Gaga portrays Harleen Quinzel in the musical sequel to the critically acclaimed 2019 film Joker, starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix. In a recent interview with Vogue, Gaga discussed her musical contributions to the movie, including a waltz she composed, and her portrayal of a character with a blend of childlike innocence and adult complexity.
Though Joker: Folie à Deux received mixed reviews after its Venice Film Festival premiere, Gaga’s performance remains highly anticipated. Meanwhile, her recent duet with Bruno Mars, Die With A Smile, continues to top the Billboard 200 charts, and she recently took part in the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
